Getting Your Practice Listed

Review Process

Depth psychotherapy professional may request to have their practice, clinic, or training clinic listed on this website. Unlike many of the referral services, this is a directory of professionals and will remain a free service. The process for each of these is a little different. Please read the guidelines carefully before submitting your materials. To submitting your materials, please send an Email to editors. In this Email please include your name, contact information, and how you wish for your practice to be listed (private practice, clinic, or training site).
The editors do reserve the right to remove any practice listing at any time.

Your Private Practice

To have your practice listed you must either be a licensed professional or under the supervision of a licensed professional experienced in depth psychotherapy. If you are a licensed professional, please submit the following information:

    * Your name, practice location, practice website (if applicable), phone number, degree, and

       license number.

    * A brief summary of your approach to therapy, including a statement on your theoretical

       approach (for editorial review)

    * What you would like to be included on the site. This can include a brief statement for

potential clients to read about your approach to therapy.

    * A copy of a current curriculum vita

If you are not currently licensed, you may still have your practice listed. You must have your supervisor submit information verifying that he or she is licensed and has a background appropriate to supervise someone practicing depth psychotherapy.

Your Clinic

Members of a clinic can be listed individually through submitting in accordance with the guidelines for private practice or you can have your clinic listed. If you desire for you clinic to be listed it should fit into one of two categories: 1) All your therapist practice from a depth psychotherapy approach, or 2) There is a clear system by which consumers who would prefer a depth psychotherapy approach are referred to your therapists who utilize this approach.

The following information should be submitted by the clinic director:

    * The name, location, phone number, and clinic website (if applicable).

    * The names and license numbers of the therapists at the clinic (or the depth psychotherapist

       for option 2)

    * For option 1, a statement of the clinics approach and other relevant information (the reviewer

may request additional information after reviewing the application)

    * For option 2, a statement describing how clients are referred to therapists at your clinic. It is

important that there is a process through which clients can request to see a depth

psychotherapist, if this is there preference. In other words, clients are not just referred to the

first available therapist if they state a preference for a depth psychotherapy approach

    * Please include a statement of what information you would like on the website. This can

include a brief statement about your clinic for clients to review.

Training Clinics

Training clinics follow the same procedures as mentioned above for other clinics. However, they must additionally submit a statement about the supervision process. How is it insured that therapist wishing to practice from a depth approach receive the proper supervision. Additionally, please submit the names of the supervisors who are able to provide this type of supervision. As training clinics tend to have a more rapid rate of change, it is requested that an individual is specified who will contact the Depth Psychotherapy Network about changes which occur and would notify us if the clinic no longer meets the above noted specifications.
